Bed and Breakfast
This is a movie about  a cad played by Roger Moore, who washes ashore and is taken
in by a family of 3 generations of women - grandma, mom and daughter.  They all seem
to be taken by him.

Jake plays one of 3 young 'thugs' who come looking for Moore's character.
I haven't watched the entire movie so it's unclear why they wanted him (aside from
some 'hotshot' wanting him dead.).  They also seemed a little green in that Moore's
character was able to bluff them into leaving.  I thought it was ludicrous that they
were able to beat up a man but seemed semi-stymied by the group of women.

Jake's character was named "Bobby" although only "Julian", a guy who was
much taller then Jake, was called by name and in the credits, his last name
was mispelled - "Webber".  His character smokes and he did some funny
things towards the end of his appearance with the cigarette smoke.

He wore a light brown suit, tie and dress shoes. He was rather thin and
very cute.  I think of Jake as young looking even now but you can tell
that he was truly young in this movie.

One movie site that reviewed the movie noted that while it was made in 1989,
it wasn't released until 1992.

Out of Jake's 3 'early' movies, this one offered him the most screen time.

This movie airs every so often on the Women's Entertainment channel
[was the Romance Channel] so check your listings.

After watching the movie again in fast forward a little more closely, Jake has lines
in an earlier scene where he and a young black guy are reporting to someone named 'Alex'
who threatens to kill them if they can't produce proof that Moore's character is truly dead.
Apparently they were the reason that Moore washed up onto the beach - Julian chucked
him off a ship.  Julian is the 'baddie' of the group. There is another scene that was
cut from the tv version, where the two go to pick up the Julian character, and he spooks
Jake's character into scrambling into the back seat.  [Thanks for that tidbit Chris!]
{ In fact, the second scene is also missing from the VHS tape as well unless you live
in Europe and get a PALS copy.   It's rather dumb that the second scene got cut
because  it sets up the end of the third where Jake's character gets a little violent with Julian.}

5-17-02: Well, it's amazing how different two tapes can be. Chris was kind enough
to make a copy of her tape for me and I finally buzzed through it. It has a scene
where Jake and his pal watch Julian and Moore's character fight. Jake looks
very yuppy - long sleeve shirt, vest and sport coat.  The young black guy
actually stops Julian from giving Moore's character a kung fu death blow,
allowing Moore's character to hit him. Julian then kicks Moore off the yacht.
Odd that the guy would stop Julian from killing Moore when that was their assignment from Alex.

This scene is missing from the tape that is available for purchase in the US and Canada. What genius.

The other scene that is missing is where the two pals stop by a Coast Guard
station to see if anything had washed ashore. Julian is off on a flat rock or
something practicing his 'moves'. Jake's character suggests that they go to the police.
His bud looks at him like he has rocks in his head as he explains how Alex would
get the death sentence and they would give life without parole. He calls Jake
'Einstein'.  Jake was really cute with his 'huge' eyes oggling at Julian.

The one part that I noticed that was cut from the European video was Alex calling
Julian to tell him to be ready. This was after he told the two to find Moore's body.
I suppose since the European video had the scene where Moore gets chucked
off the yacht, they figured that we didn't need to know who the two would have to
go get. But considering everything else that is in the European video, why bother?
I'm also trying to figure out what their part in all of this was. They're clearly not killers.
 That was all Julian's department.
