Meet Joe Black
![]() Jake gets to play Drew - no last name. Drew would make Ronald Reagan proud - the quintessential conservative, he wears suspenders and a belt. His character starts out as a married-to-the-job type and seems to be the only one with any intelligence when the mysterious Joe Black shows up one evening on the doorstep. Turns out that Drew has a few things up his sleeve. Jake chose to wear his gorgeous hair short and dark brown - maybe a hint of auburn - and gets to wear several very ritzy looking suits plus a tuxedo. He played Drew as one who doesn't let anything get him down or get in his way. Girlfriend ogling some other guy? Hey, momentary disappointment but shrug it off and go on. Caught playing both sides? Cut a deal and walk away. Jake showed great range with this character. He seemed attentative to Forlani in the beginning, even a little jealous that she was yakking it up with Pitt's character. He was also very work-minded and opinionated. He seemed the most level-headed of anyone when Bill brought in Pitt's character, Joe. He gradually turns up the volume until he's able to oust Hopkins' character and he would have gotten away with it all if he hadn't been so lippy with Tambor's character.
