Into My Heart
An indie film with Rob Morrow and Claire Forlani.  This was made before Meet Joe
Black but, I would think, after Dangerous Beauty.  It's done, I think, mostly in
flashback.  It was being shown in limited release in New York around May 2000
but haven't heard about any attempts to extend the release area.  Jake plays
Adam, a well-to-do writer whose best friend is played by Morrow.  He meets
Forlani at a college gathering over the death of Jim Belushi and marries her.
When the two were boys, an accident occurred, which results in Adam losing an
eye.   His character was described as a fair-haired golden boy.  He wears a patch
over his bad eye.  Supposedly being able to get around with only one eye is not
an easy thing so it would have been interesting to know whether or not Jake
just wore the thing all the time to adapt.  It apparently messes with one's
depth perception and can lead to headaches.  So it's amazing that his character
was supposed to be such a wonderful, sweet guy.  Can you imagine trying to
play someone who is a naive, sweet guy with a splitting headache while trying not
to fall down stairs? In any event, his best friend and wife get together and . . . .
Apparently his character was not very well "adapted" to the bumps in the
road of life, .   Maybe that's a case of optimism actually equating with denial.
The producer of Cherry indicated that it didn't have much action and likened it to "talking heads".

2-18-02: Chris has seen a German dubbed version of the movie and says
that they first meet Nina at a restaurant [looked more like a pub in the trailer]
where she is waitressing.   She indicates that the movie is 'slow' and she isn't
certain she would watch it but for Jake.
